The Life of a Cat

Day 283 Of My Captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal.

The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture.

Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded; must try this at the top of the stairs.

In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair; must try this on their bed.

Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts.

They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices.

I was placed in solitary throughout the event.

However, I could hear the noise and smell the food.

More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies."

Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches.

The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return.

He is obviously a half-wit.

The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly.

I am certain he reports my every move.

Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.

But I can wait, it is only a matter of time...

If you are hurting for some Diablo style action but would prefer to leave the blocky graphics behind, Direct2Drive is having a 5 year anniversary sale and the Titan's Quest pack is only $5.

It's very diablo-like in the game play, but with updated graphics. Balance gets wiggy in the late game at least for the caster class I was using but it was still a cheap way to scratch that itch if you have it.

Are there different pre-order bonus items depending where you order from?

Different collector's edition items?

Or is it all the same?

8th-Sep-2009 10:27 am - Champions online revisited
firebird3
I was fielding some more questions about Champions Online over the weekend, so I wanted to expand slightly.

Everything I said earlier holds true, but having had some more playtime, I have some things to add.

Nerf: Right as the game launched, they did a pretty major nerf to the defensive powers. It hurt. Apparently they felt some people were beating up bad guys with impunity, and so they nerfed us all.

Now I understand the need to nerf on occasion. I'm not a "no nerfs not now not ever" kind of guy. But this one hurt. It's made it very hard for me to stay alive. Even small groups are a problem. I've read what the devs think we should be able to handle solo, and it's ok but the margin by which one survives it is very small.

Missions: I'm in the very late teens with my main and struggling. There aren't enough missions. It's sending me on missions that are slightly over my level. Combined with the nerf issues, this makes things VERY hard. I die a lot. I mean a *lot*.

To be fair, I did team up with two old COH friends last night, and we had much better success.

My point: Here's my point - right now the game is not fun to play. They've nerfed hard, and taken away something special.

I do not feel like a superhero. I don't feel like a regular hero. I certainly do not feel like a Champion.

In CoH, you could be challenged without feeling like you're hanging on by a thread. Something could go wrong and you could recover. Here, nothing can go wrong, and you still might not survive.

I don't get hung up over some defeats, but I'm spending so much time face down that it's just no fun.

The bad balancing, and the shortage of missions tell me that this game is not mature enough yet for me to reccomend. This stuff should be fixed in beta, not live. Lack of content is not something to take into the live setting. The game is immature, un-done, and un-fun.

I'd stay away from it for now if i were you. I'm not sure if I'll just abandon it entirely now or not. I'd rather go back to CoH and level a new fire blaster from start than keep fighting with this.

Aion sucks.

Apparently they have a different idea of what the phrase "open beta" means. It's not really open at all. So I wasted my time.
